Report - Saturday Sept 25th
A Team - Carterton A 0 - Kidlington A 12
An excellent start to the season against a very inexperienced Carterton side. As usual, it took the girls a while to get going and we did not take the lead until the 9th minute, with Melissa Hawtin tapping in at the far post. We added a further 3 goals before half-time through Emily Moore (2) and Nicola Bishop all created by Danielle Anderson.
After the interval we scored at regular intervals with further goals from Danielle & Amy Chivers (both absolute crackers). Emily went on to score 2 more taking her tally to 4, and Nicola 4 more, giving her an impressive total of 5 goals.
A great all round team performance and signs look encouraging for the coming season.
B Team - Carterton B 0 - Kidlington B 6
A great start for Neil Butler in his first game in charge. The team took a while to settle but eventually Jemma Young stamped her class on the game and she completed a superb hat-trick by half-time. Despite numerous changes during the interval, Kidlington continued to create chances and it was no surprise when the impressive Emma Yapp added a fourth goal.
This gave Neil the luxury of givng some players their first ever game of football and the team finished with a flourish and 2 goals for striker Clare Wiseman.
Great debuts from Harriett Cooke and Elizabeth Lord
Considering that many of the team had played very little football, this was great start to the season.
Report - Saturday October 2nd
A Team - Kidlington A 9 - Banbury United 0
The team started off where they finished the week before playing flowing attractive football against a team that finished 2nd in the league last year. In know time at all we were 3 goals to the good, Emily Moore, Melissa Hawtin and Nicola Bishop the scorers. Danielle Anderson got her just rewards by adding a 4th and Nicola made it 5-0 just before the break.
Banbury started the 2nd half with a player short due to injury and it was not until they returned to their full compliment of players that we began to play again. Emily and Danielle both got their 2nd goals of the game and 2 goals in the last 5 mins from Nell Boxall, her first goals of the season, rounded off a spectacular
9-0 victory.
A special mention for those who didn't get on the scoresheet. Katie Cox, our goalkeeper who didn't actually touch the ball, but that was down to our solid defensive trio of Sophie Cooper and our 2 Amy's, Friary & Chivers. They get better with each game. Baz Owen returned to action after missing the Carterton game and made some telling passes.
Well done girls........roll on the next game.
